Cruck-framed house, High Kilkivan.

Portions of two cruck-trusses survive in the now ruinous dwelling-house of the farm of High Kilkivan. The crucks are set within recesses formed in the stone walls, and rise from a height of about 0.9m above floor level. Each blade is formed of two members, scarf-jointed a little below wall-head level; very little now remains of the upper members. The building appears to be of late 18th- or early 19th-century date.

RCAHMS 1971, visited May 1962
