Archaeology Notes

NR45SW 10 432 511.

NR 433 510. There are two circular hut foundations at the foot of the ridge occupied by fort (NR45SW 9) and to the NE.

F Newall 1964.

There are no hut circles in the area indicated by Newall (1964), but at NR 432 511 at the foot of a rocky knoll is a group of six shielings, of which the two most upstanding examples are presumably the 'foundations' described.

Visited by OS (NKB) 25 March 1979.
