Activities

Trial Trench (21 February 2022 - 10 April 2022)

NH 72206 36110 to NH 80988 27955: AOC CFA JV undertook a programme of archaeological trial trenching on behalf of Transport Scotland for the Tomatin to Moy section of the A9 Dualling Programme (AMJV 2016), comprising a seven week fieldwork programme from 21st February to 10th April.

The trial trenching was required over twelve Land Parcels and consisted of 269 trenches and trial pits. Archaeological features were identified within two Land Parcels and comprised two pits and four linear features in Land Parcel 1 and two small sub-circular pits filled with fire waste in Land Parcel 10. The trenches in the remaining Land Parcels did not contain any archaeological features.

From AOC-CFA JV 70634.
