The market cross of Bervie, is a column of stone 14' high surmounted by a ball, and has a flight of steps around the base. It stands near the town-house.
New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845
The Market Cross of Bervie stands in a street off King Street. 'This is one of the examples in which the stepping of the Cross rises from a built pedestal or die...and not immediately off the ground. The shaft
is surmounted by a cone-shaped ball, and bears the date 1737'.
