Kinneff Castle NO 856 747 NO87SE 2
Kinneff Castle occupies a steep-sided promontory 200m0SE of Kinneff parish church (NO87SE 1); only one fragment of wall is visible, but on the NW and SW there is a prominent scarp which is probably all that remains of a substantial earthwork defence. The castle was in existence by 1336, when it was repaired and garrisoned by the English, and it had become ruinous by the early 18th century.
