Field Visit
NX 7660 6063 A platform lies within a triangular promontory into marshland which, prior to 1765, would have been part of Carlingwark Loch. The promontory is isolated on the E by a mix of natural hollows and quarry pits, and at its W angle is a rounded mound about 3m higher. The platform lies between the mound and the hollows 25m from Lovers Walk footpath. It is 30m long SW/NE by 22m wide, formed by ditches to either side and a steep scarp on the NE.
