There are the remains of a large cairn on the highest part of the ground in the Plantation of Hillhead. They are overgrown with heather and weeds.

Name Book 1864.

This long cairn is situated on the summit of an isolated hill (174m OD) within the former Plantation of Hillhead. It is oriented ENE-WSW and measures 50.0m in length. It is 22.0m wide and 2.5m high at the ENE end, and 12.0m wide and 1.8m high at the WSW end. A trench across the cairn, near the centre, shows no evidence of internal structures; otherwise fair condition. There are a few clearance heaps to the SE of the cairn. Long cairn resurveyed at 1:2500.

This long cairn is situated on the summit of an isolated hill (174m OD) within the former plantation of Hillhead. Aligned ENE-WSW, it measures 52m in length by up to 2.7m in height, and the broader ENE end-(22m) is separated from the WSW end (9m) by a trans­ verse hollow.
