Archaeology Notes

NO77NE 27 c. 75 75.

A stone ball, 2 3/4ins in diameter, with five discs, ornamented with small knobs, found near Fordoun (NO 75 75) is in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS), donated by the Rev J Gammack (Accession no: AS 3).

A second ball, from Fordoun, of sandstone, 2 3/4ins in diameter, with circular spaces filled with concentric circles, is also in the NMAS, purchased in 1878 (Accession no: AS 29).
