A cairn 14ft in diameter and 3ft high, traditionally associated with the slaying of a huge serpent. (No explanation of the name is given.)
Name Book 1863.
This cairn, situated on the summit of a spur of Strathfinella Hill (355m OD), measures about 7.5m in diameter and 0.5m maximum height. Around the perimeter are about six intermittent earthfast stones, probably part of a kerb. The centre, of loose stones, has been disturbed. The name is still known.

Smart's Cairn NO 693 777 NO67NE 5
This cairn is situated on the summit of Smart's Cairn Hill (355m OD) in a recent forestry plantation. It measures 7m in diameter within a boulder kerb, by 0.4m in height. Ploughing has disturbed the cairn on the S, and two marker-cairns have been built on the top, while a third lies 5m to the S.
