Field Visit

Dressed stone culvert, running along the edge of the hill slope West to East, carrying water runoff from orchards further up the slope and formed by large rectangular stone basin, 0.9m in width, 0.75m in length and 0.2m deep, draining into a to smaller stone basin 0.55m in length and 0.9m in width tapering to 0.3m in width, toward the bottom of the slope and eventually leading underground to the large drainage ditch, Site 103 ([Canmore ID 360725] NS 83610 44644). System designed to regulate flow of water off the orchards in a controlled manner to avoid flooding or erosion of orchards.
