Standing Building Recording (15 December 2014 - 20 February 2015)
NO 68972 65065 A Level 2 standing building survey was carried out, 15 December 2014 – 20 February 2015, of this early 18th-century mill prior to its conversion to holiday lets. There is a date stone ‘1738’ and another possibly ending ‘76’ built into a door jamb. There is a fragment of gravestone built into an interior alcove. The SW gable is the former location of the mill wheel and the lade is still running allowing little access to that end of the building. At least nine mason’s marks were recorded on this ashlar sandstone gable, all based around an ‘X’.
