Nearly circular and evidently composed of loose stones this is called by old people 'the Catholic Chapel', but by Brymer a 'Druidical Temple'.

Name Book 1863; Statistical Account (OSA) 1796.

A circular hollow called 'the Papish Kirk'.

A Jervise 1875-9.

A prostrate monolith measuring 1.8m in length by 0.6m in width and 0.4m in thickness, situated on the S side of the circle published on OS 25" map is all that survives in afforestation.

Revised at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (R L) 27 August 1971.
