Activities

Field Visit (2001)

Fragments of two boundary banks run from the upper reaches of the townships of Sandavore (NM48SE 72) and Galmisdale (NM48SE 67) to the NNW for about 2.5km, utilising stream courses and natural breaks of slope wherever possible. These presumably marked the boundary between the hill grazing of these two townships during the post-medieval period, as shown on Leslie’s 1824 Map of Eigg. They may be related to another boundary bank located further to the NW (NM48NE 75).
