Archaeology Notes

NO64SW 59 6402 4109.

(Location cited as NO 641 413). Inch Mill, Lindsay Street, early 19th century and later. A pleasing group of 1- and 2-storey rubble buildings, the oldest of which is probably a 2-storey, 4-bay reange with twelve 'weavers' windows' in the upper floor. Here the first experiments in Arbroath with the spinning of flax by steam power were made in 1808.

J R Hume 1977.
