Activities

Field Visit (10 June 2001)

A group of two buildings and an enclosure stands in a field about 20m W of St Donan’s Church. The enclosure (179) measures at least 15.5m from NE to SW by 6m transversely within grass-grown stone walls spread to 1.7m in thickness and 0.2m in height, and there is a possible entrance in the SW. It is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire (Skye) Sheet LXXI, 1879), but no trace of the two roofed buildings that are also shown was found on the date of visit.

About 15m to the N there are two buildings (180, 181) set on either side of a stream. Both are well-preserved and later in date.
