Field Visit (22 April 2002)
A large oval mound is situated within an area defined by the robbed remains of a field boundary about 230m NNE of an unnamed lochan and 640m SE of the waterfall at Sgorr Gobhar. The mound measures 10.6m from E to W by 10.1m transversely and 0.7m in height and there is a kerb of edge-set stones best preserved on the N and W.
A later rectangular structure, possibly a building, is set in the centre of the mound and measures internally 6.4m by 4m. This building is entered by a passage which is set into the mound on the E side and measures 1m in width and 4.2m in length.
A later rubble pen has been constructed within the building, a second stands about 20m to the NNW of the mound and there is a clearance cairn 25m to the S of the mound, suggesting the field was once cultivated.
The field boundary describes an area measuring up to 90m from N to S by 50m transversely.
