Field Visit (2 March 2016)
Situated on level ground about 35m ESE from the Fire Command Post (NS27NW 21.03) is an arc of trench, open to the NW, which measures about 9m in length by 0.9m in width and varies in depth from 0.7m at the rear to 1.2m at the front. An upcast mound on the front (SE) edge of the trench measures 11m in length by a maximum of 2.2m in thickness and 0.5m in height. There is a possible entrance passage (1m wide and 1.5m long) at the NE end of the trench where there is also a possible drain. The trench is of a style that suggests that it is likely to be of Second World War date.
