Desk Based Assessment (21 June 2016)

The remains of a causeway link the south bank of the River Clyde with the southern shore of Newshot Island. Measuring about 150m in length from NE to SW, it remains more or less as depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 25-inch map (Renfrew 1864, Sheet VIII.2) except that the trackway leading off its NE end has largely been washed away.

Information from HES Survey and Recording (JRS) 20 June 2016.
