Field Visit (September 1979)
A bank 1.2m high, 2m wide crosses the boggy valley bottom
from bluff to bluff. It looks like a mill dam but there is no
trace of a mill. Seaward of it are remnants of another bank,
this one curved in plan, which appears as if it may have been
meant to form another pool lower down.
Information from Orkney SMR (RGL) Sep 79.

Field Visit (1999)
A bank curves across the base of a shallow valley, some 40m from the coast edge. It has been denuded in placed by rabbit burrowing and the traffic of sheep. It is paralleled by a second similar bank, located further inland. The purpose of these banks remains enigmatic; it has been suggested that they have the appearance of a small dam, but no mill is to be found in this area. Ref.: RCAHMS (1980), #226.
