Orkney Smr Note

A brough was dug through during construction of the road,

at or very near the junction with the road to Lambaness.

Told by Mr Anderson Excise Officer in Sanday that the

labourers who are now forming a new road at the south end of

Sanday have cut through what appears to be the remains of a

village near the old harbour of Pool. 31 May 1867.
