Activities

Note (14 August 2014)

Five single storey houses, three of which on Dominion Road and two on Woodside Road were originally constructed for workers at the HM Factory Gretna. Gretna and nearby Eastriggs to the W, were built to house the factory workers, who were mostly female for the large Cordite factory. While much of the present town is of brick built villas and terraced houses, designed by chief architect Raymond Unwin, most of the workers were housed in temporary wooden huts. These five huts have been converted into bungalows.
