Field Visit (June 1997 - June 1997)

Located on the southern fringes of Ley Wood to the south of Crathes Castle and the east of Woodbine Cottage, this fragment of field wall marks the original field boundary of the open areas to the south before the burial ground at NO 7343 9648 was laid out. This feature survives as a stony scarp that suggests the remains of a ha ha style wall, typical of those seen elsewhere on the estate and in the Banchory area (CRT97 044).
