(Area: NO 478 610) The foundations of a building, said to have been a castle of the Montealts or Montealtos who held Fern 1377 - c. 1410, existed in Brandy Den (NO 478 610) until the beginning of the 19th century.

A Jervise 1853; A J Warden 1880-5.
