Cinerary Urn found (NAT)

OS 6" map, (1969)

This standing stone, said to have weighed 20 tons, was destroyed by blasting about 1830, and an urn about 3' high, containing bones and ashes was found at a considerable depth on the site.

Reid (1909) says the urn was in a cist and Mr Dixon (merchant, Kirriemuir) that more than one urn was found.
