Activities

Archaeological Evaluation (January 2019)

NF 7078 0309 An evaluation and historic building recording was undertaken, in January 2019, relating to the remains of a 20th-century kelp factory.

A total of four trenches were excavated across site. Two wall footings were identified to the S of the southern factory wall, indicating the presence of an outbuilding attached to the southern wall of the factory. No other features were identified. An enhanced record of the southern wall of the Kelp Factory was also undertaken.
