Field Visit (29 June 2011)

The largest building within the township of Molatuath (NF83NE 6) stands on a natural rise surrounded by cultivation ridges. Rectangular on plan, it measures 12.8m from NE to SW by 4.1m transversely within drystone walls up to 1.2 in thickness and 1.5m in height. There is an entrance and at least one window opening in the SE side and in the interior there is a later partition wall and a twinning pen. A small structure, possibly an outshot, now reduced to footings, has been built against the NW side of the building and there are the remains of a second, smaller, building immediately to the N.

Visited by RCAHMS (GFG) 29 June 2011.
