The Butterbiggins Road drill hall appears on the 3rd epoch OS map of the area (surveyed 1909-10). The building is a low, long single-storey building with eight bays to the street. The third bay from the left is occupied by a large door with, above, the inscription "Lanarkshire Volunteer Artillery".
The gable has windows on ground and first floors, although it is not certain the upper are original. There are signs of a second pitched-roof building behind.
In 1914 the hall was the base for 4th City of Glasgow [H] Battery and Ammunition Column, 4th Lowalnd [Howitzer] Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.
The building survives, but is derilect.
