NO42SW 58 40203 23957

A series of linear cropmarks to the S of an unenclosed settlement (NO42SW 59) have been recorded by aerial photography 480m SE of Hawkhill farmsteading. A linear feature running ENE-WSW and about 4m wide is visible from NO c.4110 2488 to NO c.4125 2481, a distance of some 160m, although there is a suggestion that it can be traced for a further 170m to the W. A group of short linear cropmarks to the N (centred NO c.401 248) may represent field banks or ice wedges.
