A building labelled as "drill hall" is marked on the 2nd edition OS 1:2500 map of Hopeman. The architect Charles Chree Doig is recorded as having overseen repairs to the Hopeman drill hall in 1909. The building is of rubble, with a single pitch and two large windows on the street frontage gable.
The hall survives and is now a dwelling, next to the Hopeman Memorial Hall, erected in memory of the Hopeman men who fell.
It is not known which, if any units, were based here during 1914-18. It is recorded that a branch of the Scottish Women's Rural Institute was started at Hopeman drill hall in 1937.
