OS 6" map, Forfarshire and Angus, 2nd ed., (1922/38)

A small mound on Kirkton Hill measures about 50 links in diameter and about 3' in height. It is believed to be a tumulus.

Name Book 1862.

On the summit of Kirkton Hill, is a small circular turf-covered mound with small stones protruding over its surface, thus suggesting it is a cairn rather than a Tumulus. It is now reduced to 9.5m in diameter and 0.4m maximum height. No surrounding kerb or ditch now noted.

On the summit of Kirkton Hill, at a height of about 245m OD, there are the remains of a low, flat-topped cairn measuring 9m in diameter and 0.4m in height.
