Field Visit (21 March 2012)
This quarry is situated 20m ENE of the church (NS05SE 5.00), having been dug into the SSW face of a low ridge. It is not large (c10m from NW to SE by at least 6m transversely and 2m deep on the NE) but some evidence of its relative antiquity may be provided by the field-cleared stones heaped onto its floor from the adjacent cultivated ground and the fact that its front appears to have been cut by an equally old track.
Visited by RCAHMS (JRS) 21 March 2012.
