Activities

Watching Brief (4 April 2009)

Stuart Farrell was commissioned by Mr and Mrs Inglis in March 2009 to undertake an archaeological watching brief at Farr, Inverness-shire (NH 68221/33206) as part of a project for a new house with associated access and services.

Work revealed no archaeological features or deposits of interest, the site of the new house lying in an area of rough ground.

Watching Brief (June 2010)

NH 6823 3325 A survey was undertaken in June 2010

prior to the construction of a new house in the area of the

Tordarroch hut circle (NH63SE 28). The work recorded a

possible cultivation plot and a number of possible clearance

cairns. A watching brief on the site of the house plot in late

October 2010 recorded one clearance cairn. Work conducted

on two adjacent proposed house plots recorded cleared

stones dumped on top of large boulders, but no other

features or deposits.
