A round-ended rectangular building was recorded on a SE facing slope, c 240m NW of Barabhaig sheepfold NG61SE 45, by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in November 2000 (site 19). It is aligned NNE - SSW and measures 12m x 4m, with a centrally placed entrance in the E wall. In front of the entrance is a rectangular hollow, probably a midden, defined by a low wall 7m x 5m.
Aerial photography shows an irregularly shaped enclosure attached to the back (W) wall of the building and extensive rig and furrow surrounding the the site to the N and S, which is intersected by lengths of dykes. A straight section of dyke, aligned WSW - ENE, lying c50m N of the building may preserve the outline of an earlier building.
