Activities

Field Visit (2010)

This surge tank sits on the southern end of the aqueduct leading from the outlet of Loch Ericht dam (see separate record). The tank protects the pipeline from excess water inflow in periods of flood. Current knowledge suggests that this is a relatively standard semi-subterranean feature. P L Payne,1988; E Wood, 2002; J Miller, 2002.
