NO24SW 47.01 NO 2322 4103 Settlement: Unenclosed (possible)
NO24SW 47.02 NO 2328 4105 Ring-ditch
This circular enclosure and adjacent unenclosed settlement are located on the summit of a low ridge above the River Isla. The enclosure is circular, measuring about 20m in diameter within a ditch about 2m wide with no visible entrance. A circular cropmark to the W, with a darker crescentic feature within, represents the remains of a 10m diameter roundhouse. At least two further similar sized roundhouses are represented by crescentic cropmarks to the S, alongside several pits, and the faint cropmarks of possible further ring-ditches in the field could also represent the remains of other roundhouses.
