Field Visit (15 June 2010)

This burnt mound was previously noted under HU25SW 10. It stands on the S side of a long boggy hollow which drains into the Loch of Brunatwatt some 160m to the E. C-shaped on plan and open to the NE, it measures 15m from NW to SE by 9m transversely and up to 2m in height. It is annotated as tumuli on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Orkney & Shetland (Shetland) 1882, sheet xlvi).
