Visual inspection of site: Photographs: Measured.
This kiln, a mere 75 metres from another a little lower down the track to Leacnasgeir, is not shown on any maps. The bottom has a downward slope and it is entirely covered by grass but probing suggests that it is stone lined. The lip is oriented to the south-east. Why there should be two kilns so close together is a mystery. It is at the top of a quite steep field showing evidence of rig and furrow.
