Archaeology Notes

HY50SW 3 c. 50 04

In the summer of 1921, two Late Bronze Age bronze implements, a socketed knife of comparatively rare type and a razor were found by a crofter while casting peats in Quoykea Moss. Both objects are well preserved and are in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS), (Accession nos. DQ 262 & 263 respectively).

A bronze knife and razor (Royal Museum of Scotland [RMS]) were found deep in the peat of Quoykea Moss.
