Archaeology Notes

NO43SE 508 centred 4722 3078

A series of anti landing posts have been identified from RAF WW II vertical air photographs (FNO 97, frames 6. 111-6.112, flown 16 August 1942), immediately offshore from The Esplanade at Broughty Ferry. The main group was situated at NO 4722 3078 where about eighteen posts are visible in rows of three with others running NE and SW over the sands when uncovered by low tide.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), January 2009
