This sheepfold is situated immediately ENE of the Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar (NC27SE 27) on the summit of Dùnan Mòr, a low hill immediately SSE of Cape Wrath. Circular on plan, it measures 20m in diameter within a drystone grey granite wall up to 0.9m in thickness at the base and standing 1.1m in height. The top of the wall comprises a boulder cope, most of which is still in situ, and there is an entrance, 1.2m in width, on the NNW.
The fold was built between 1874, when the survey for the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet 1) was undertaken, and 1908, when the 2nd edition of the map was published (Sutherland 1908, sheet 1). It is therefore broadly contemporary with the large stock enclosure (NC27SE 51), which is situated some 400m to the W.
