This was a flight of locks taking the canal down to the Forth and Clyde Canal (NS88SE 110.00) at Port Downie Basin (NS88SE 171).

This lock flight is clearly visible on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Stirlingshire 1864, sheet xxx) and on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Stirlingshire 1899, sheet xxx NW).

This site (NS87NE 103.00) was formerly used for what is now NS87NE 103.21 (Numlink 185273), the topmost individual lock (#11) in the flight, but changed to allow a main site for the whole lock flight to be recorded.
