N57 3.4 W6 32.5

NLO: Tarbert Bay [name centred NG 244 052]

Canna [name centred NG 255 055]

Sound of Canna [name centred NG 29 02].

(Classified as Prawn F[ishing] V[essel]: date of loss cited as 8 May 1968). Heathery Brae: this vessel was in collision, [was] towed, and sank approximately 100 yards from shore at [the] head of Tarbert Bay. 18grt.

(Location of loss cited as N57 3.40 W6 32.50).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative, being derived from the unverified location that is cited by Whittaker. Tarbert Bay forms a clearly-defined indentation into the S coast of Canna, but does not have an identifiable 'head' as such.
