Archaeology Notes

NJ62SW 191 c. 62268 21053

A building with an adjoining enclosure is depicted at approximately this location on the 1797 plan of Auchnagathle on the Leith hall Estate (E 33927 and E 33928 CN). It has been interpreted tentatively as a sheep house and sheepfold, but it is possible that it was an isolated farmstead.

Information from RCAHMS (AC), 20 December 2007.
