Archaeology Notes

NM48SW 40 40393 80401

These two huts stand on a grassy terrace covered with lazy-beds on the E side of Aird nan Uan. The larger (Muck02 138) is built below the scarp at the back of the terrace and measures 4.2m in length by 2.4m in breadth, within a wall 0.9m in thickness and 0.4m in height. There is an entrance in the SE side. The other hut (Muck02 139) lies on the leading edge of the terrace 40m to the NW and measures 3.5m in length by 3m in breadth over a wall up to 0.4m in height.
