Greenock, 20th Dec. The new dredger at the West End Works drove from her anchors, came in contact with a pile which knocked a hole in her bottom, and she sunk this morning: crew saved.
Source: LL, No. 15,198, London, Monday, December 22 1862.
NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 10305).
The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are essentially tentative. The location of the West End Works (which were presumably dredging operations) cannot be determined from the available map evidence.
