Greenock, 6th Oct. The THOMAS (sloop), of Rothesay, Duncan, is ashore a total wreck at the mouth of Loch Strivan [Striven].

(Classified as sloop: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as 6 October 1860). Thomas: this vessel was wrecked at the entrance to Loch Striven.

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. This vessel evidently stranded on either Strone Point (to the W of the entrance to Loch Striven) or near Brackley Point (to the E of the entrance).
