NLO: Staxigoe [name: ND 384 525]

Wick [name: ND 361 508]

Wick Bay [name centred ND 376 506].

Wick, 18th Aug. The DEE (sloop), of Ramsay, with herrings, had to be scuttled at Staxigo [Staxigoe] to save her.

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 14,471, London, Tuesday August 21 1860.

NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 9857).

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), possibly suggesting her successful recovery.
