Wick, 10th Mar. The DAHINDA, of this port, from Newcastle, which was stranded on the 28th Feb., at Proudfoot, has broken up: considerable portions of her hull, spars, &c., have been floated round to Broadhaven and been sold.

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 14,022, London, Monday March 14 1859.

NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 9649).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The Proudfoot Rocks are not noted as such on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but the name presumably applies to the extensive and prominent rocks around North Head (centred ND 383 507).

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 15 November 2006.
