Greenock, 21st Dec. The ISLAY (s), which should have arrived here, 19th Dec, from Islay, is reported on shore.

Greenock, 22nd Dec. The ISLAY (s), was at anchor off Port Ellen on the 18th Dec., when she was driven from her moorings by the heavy sea and went [Record received incomplete].

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
