Lossiemouth, 23rd Feb. The THISTLE, of Arbroath, laden with barley, went ashore near Fort Augustus above Inverness, sank, and was sold.

(No classification specified: cargo cited as barley, and date of loss as February 1853). Thistle: this vessel sank at Fort Augustus, and was sold. Repaired or CTL?

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative.

This vessel was presumably lost in either the Caledonian Canal or Loch Ness (to the NE). She may have sunk alongside.
